Rush tatami mat weaving experience session
How can you make tatami mats from rushes? We are always looking for trial sessions. What is the process by which the rush tatami mats that have supported Japanese culture are made? What are the benefits of rush and its relaxing effects? Experience the benefits of rush at the production area.
Rush by length
The rushes used for tatami mats are sorted by length. Long grass becomes a luxury item. Now, what is the longest grass to weave with?
Work before weaving
There are various work processes before being put on the loom. The quality of the tatami mat depends on the ingenuity and thoroughness of this process.

Grass with poor quality or durability is removed and only good grass is used for weaving. The higher-quality items are woven at a slower pace.

Implementation date and time: Please let us know your preferred day on weekdays. Coordinate with producers. (Excluding the reaping period from June to July and the planting period from mid-November to mid-December)

Contents: Weave one tatami mat. Please take it home. Or we will ship it to your desired location (charges apply). (If you need additional tatami mats of the same rank, you can purchase tatami mats woven by professionals.)

- 14:00 Tour of various ranks of tatami mats at Higo Bussan. Tatami replacement consultation meetings, tatami store introductions, etc.

Cost:
20,000 yen (Tatami mat rank: (Honma hemp W, recommended product, good) or (Gohachi hemp W, recommended product, excellent class). Honma size can be used in conjunction with Gohachi size, but Gohachi hemp W is recommended. If you would like to go to the Superior Class, please write it in the message section of your application.
